A local B&B has been honoured at the Tourism ExSEllence Awards 2007 ceremony alongside Ascot Race Course, the Spinnaker Tower Portsmouth and Chatham Naval Dockyard.
Ocklynge Manor, in Mill Road, scooped the award.

These awards are presented to the best tourism and leisure enterprises in the south east of England.

Bob Collier, the managing director of Tourism South East, congratulated Wendy and David Dugdill on their achievements, especially as they have only been open since Easter 2005.

Ocklynge Manor has achieved the prestigious Highly Commended Award in Bed and Breakfast of the Year Tourism South East, third place in the Independent Newspaper's 50 Best British Bed & Breakfasts, Runner-up in the AA's Friendliest Landlady of the Year and 5 Star Gold Award from both Visit Britain and the AA.
