AN UNPOPULAR housing development on Kings Drive was given the green light by a planning inspector.

A THRILL-SEEKER from Pevensey Bay took to the skies for charity – at the age of 93.

Retired RAF pilot and author Joe Patient, who had a 32-year flying career, completed a tandem parachute jump. The pensioner is raising money for Marie Curie Cancer Care and the Heroes Return.

Despite enjoying the free-fall the plucky great-great grandfather said the sudden rush of speed was not as dramatic as he had expected and added, “It was very interesting but to be honest white-water rafting in Canada was more exciting.”
