PENSIONERS said seagulls were making their life a misery and they were scared to go outside for fear of being dive-bombed by birds.

Residents of the Vineries in Langney Rise said their health was suffering and the gulls were causing a horrible mess in their gardens.

Elsie Ginn, 90, said, “I’ve been here for 20 years and I’ve never known the gulls to be this bad. This is the worst summer so far.”

EASTBOURNE Bandstand’s 75th birthday celebrations went off with a bang and some crooning from tribute acts.

The current bandstand has hosted concerts for Eastbourne residents since 1935 and the Band of the Guards marked the three quarters of a century anniversary as it played to hundred of onlookers who gathered to wish the venue happy birthday.

POWERBOATING, zorbing and motorbiking were on show for bumper crowds at Eastbourne Extreme. The event enjoyed its most impressive adrenaline-pumping action line-up yet, with a festival atmosphere and live music.

Eastbourne mayor Carolyn Heaps embraced the extreme spirit and braved the inflatable zorbing balls.
