EASTBOURNE District General Hospital bosses had to borrow £6 million from the Government in a bid to clear their debts.

East Sussex Hospitals NHS Trust, which runs the DGH and Conquest in Hastings, overspent by almost £160,000 since April and did so again later in the year. In November the trust labelled their savings ‘high risk’ and are scrambling to find millions of savings.

AIRBOURNE saw huge crowds flock to Eastbourne to watch the free four-day event.

Occasional showers failed to dampen the bumper crowds’ spirits as more than 70 flying displays flashed through the sky, including the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, The Blades and the iconic Red Arrows.
