£10,000 worth of watches stolen in Eastbourne jewellery shop burglary

Police have launched an appeal after revealing £10,000 worth of watches were stolen from a jewellery shop in Eastbourne.

The burglary occurred at Ernest Jones Jewellers in the Arndale Centre on Friday December 5.

Two men were seen breaking a door to get into the Arndale centre around 11.30pm.

A number of men and women’s Emporio Armani and Micheal Kors watches were stolen.

Detective Constable Paul Kelly said, “It has been estimated by the jewellers that the cost of the stolen watches is around £10,000 and the suspects have caused a lot of damage to the shop window.

“Please get in contact if you have been offered watches matching these descriptions in the local area or if you have any information that could help with our investigation.”

A 21-year-old man from Eastbourne, has been arrested on suspicion of burglary. He was questioned and released on bail until Wednesday January 29.
