New multi-use bins will be installed on Seaford seafront in the next few weeks in response to comments from visitors and residents.
It will make it easier for residents to throw dog waste and litter away without having to walk to find a suitable bin.
Seaford Town Council said it had invested £10,000 in the bins and is working in partnership with Lewes District Council in enhancing the facilities on the seafront. The bins will be emptied every day.
Leader of Seaford Town Council Ian White said, “We are making this investment in order to improve the look of Seaford seafront which was one of the key aims identified by the council as being important to residents and visitors alike.
“This is just the start of the changes we would like to see over the next few years.”
The town council is also asking dog walkers to dispose of dog waste responsibly and where possible to double bag it for safety.
As the weather warms up the town council is also reminding people to ensure they safely dispose of barbecues which can often result in fires if not extinguished correctly.
