Upperton Ward councillors have donated £1,000 to Community Wise from the Devolved Budget Scheme.
Cllrs Annabelle West, Alun Cooke and Tom Liddiard donated the cash to help create a new classroom and improve the play area.
Community Wise in Old Town is regularly used by youth clubs, parent and toddler groups, the Epilepsy Youth Group and the Young Carers Group.
Cllr Annabelle West said, “The improvements being made to Community Wise will make such a difference to the local community. Creating a safe, enclosed and accessible outside play area will be very beneficial for the groups that use the centre.”
Sue Relf, chief executive of Community Wise, said, “We are so grateful to the councillors for their contribution to this project. The £1,000 grant from the Devolved Budget will make a huge difference to our ambitious scheme.”
