An Eastbourne slimmer who lost four stone and became a club leader has got through to the finals of a national competition.
Lou Penfold runs a Slimming World group in Hampden Park and Shinewater.
Like all consultants for the national company, Lou has lost weight with the club and has now maintained her weight loss of four stone for more than 18 months.
Lou was one of just 24 consultants to bag a place in the finals of the Top Target Consultant 2013 competition.
On June 2 Lou went up to Derby for the final and was presented with a certificate. Unfortunately she wasn’t the overall winner.
Lou, 35, joined her local Slimming World group in May 2011 after struggling with her weight since having her three children and giving up smoking. At her heaviest she weighed 14 stone 2 lbs and found herself in size 20 clothes, unable to keep up with her three girls and becoming breathless and having chest pains. She knew she had to make a change when she went wedding dress shopping and could not try any standard dresses on as they were all to small.
So she went along to her local Slimming World group in May 2011 and hasn’t looked back since.
She said, “I’ve never felt hungry and my family have picked up so many healthy habits too because we all eat the same meals.”
Lou loves her new figure and is enjoying her role as a Slimming World consultant and said, “Nothing beats the satisfaction I get from helping people to lose weight and change their lives.
“I truly believe I have the best job in the world.”
She runs a group on Thursday at 7.30 pm at The Broadway United Church and on Wednesdays at 7pm at the Shinewater sports and Community Centre.
