Interactive fun as castle hosts Arthur’s tale

HERSTMONCEUX Castle is hosting a performance of The Sword in the Stone on June 3 (3pm).

The Cambridge Touring Theatre will be bringing the lively outdoor production, which is based on the age-old stories of King Arthur and his wise teacher, Merlin.

This brand new version includes songs, dances and interactive fun, all presented

by a cast bursting with energy and enthusiasm.

For children who want to get even more involved, there is also a drama workshop before the performance, where they can explore the story of The Sword in the Stone, and take part in their own knightly adventures and meet some of the characters from the play.

The performers are all trained actors with experience in family events, they sing, dance, steal sandwiches and take every opportunity to delight and entertain all ages.

Gates open at noon for picnics, the workshop is at 1.30pm and the performance starts at 3pm.Tickets cost £14 for adults and £8 for children. The workshop costs an extra £2.50. Pay at the gate.
