Varied programme of West End hits and operatic music

CONCENTUS Chorale will be performing A West End Musical Spectacular tomorrow June 16) at 7.45pm in St Saviour’s Church.

Included in the varied programme will be challenging but exciting medleys from the current West End hit shows including the much acclaimed Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, Miss Saigon and the ever popular and extremely well known music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.

Then in complete contrast comes the transformation to the Opera House where the choir will recall magical moments including Chorus of the Easter Hymn (Cavalleria Rusticana), Pilgrims Chorus (Tannhauser), and Bridal Chorus (Lohengrin).

In recognition of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the choir will invite the audience to join them in singing music which is akin to the last night of the Proms – the rousing choruses of Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.

The 110-strong choir is once again being led by their director of music, Adrian White.

Tickets cost £9 in advance (£10 on the door) from Bonners Music Superstore, 56 Langney Road, Eastbourne, Tel: (01323) 636140 or Semantics Glass Engraving Studio, 33 Grove Road, Eastbourne, Tel: (01323) 646414.

Light refreshments will be available during the interval.
