Traditional jazz which is Old Hat

OLD HAT will be giving customers at the regular Under Ground Theatre coffee evening a morning of traditional jazz on June 30 (10am-noon).

In the band’s words, the focus will be on “jazz standards from the ’20s and ’30s, dusted down and polished till they swing!”

Enjoy their sumptuous versions of hits such as “Lady Be Good”, “After You’re Gone”, “Lazy River” and “Basin Street Blues”. Entry is free.

Old Hat come individually from all parts of the country – but it was while they were studying music in London that they got together, united by a love of vintage jazz.

The line-up is expected to consist of Lizy Exell (drums), Chris Eldred (piano), James Kitchman (guitar), Louis Thomas (bass), William Scott (saxophone and clarinet), Mike Soper (trumpet) and Adam Tyas (trombone).
