Slavonic journey for the Eastbourne Concert Orchestra

EASTBOURNE Concert Orchestra will be performing at the Town Hall on June 19 (7.45pm).

Conductor Brian Smith MBE presents a Slavonic Journey – Warsaw to the Volga.

Starting with the Military Polonaise by Chopin, the programme moves to Russia for the Prince Igor overture (Borodin) and the Waltz from Eugene Onegin (Tschaikowsky), followed by the first of two of Dvorak’s Slavonic Dances and the first part ends with the “Slavonic Rhapsody No.2. (Freidmann).

After the interval is the second of the Dvorak Slavonic Dances, Fiddler on the Roof, Waltz No.2. from the suite by Shostakovitch is followed by the love theme from the film Dr. Zhivago and Marche Slav by Tschaikowsky ends the concert.

Tickets will be on sale at the door £10 (which includes refreshment).
