Golden oldies from 1960s return to Eastbourne
The Searchers
IN A remarkable career spanning five decades, The Searchers make a welcome return to the Congress Theatre on July 4 (7.30pm).
The Searchers were one of the most influential groups to rise from the 60s phenomenon, and today they still lead the pack, headlining tours all over the world, collecting awards, and recruiting new fans from all age groups.
They have contributed enormously in establishing the UK as the world’s leading nation in the music industry.
With classic hits such as Sweets For My Sweet, Needles and Pins, Don’t Throw Your Love Away and Sugar and Spice, The Searchers have proven to be one of Liverpool’s finest 60’s bands, second only to The Beatles.
The band have enjoyed an incredible 128 weeks in the UK chart with 3 number one hits, and six top ten smashes.
Presenting an evening of famous hits and well-known favourites, John McNally, Frank Allen, Spencer James and Scott Ottaway will also share anecdotes from the bands career as well as some album recordings, B-sides and and well-loved favourites.
Tickets cost £16.50-£18.50, call 412000.
