Church offers evening of West End tunes
THE CONCENTUS Chorale choir will be performing A West End Musical Spectacular at St Saviour’s church on June 16 (7.45pm).
The programme boasts songs from West End shows including Phantom of the Opera, Lion King, Miss Saigon and the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein.
Then in the second half, the choir will recall magical moments including Chorus of the Easter Hymn (Cavalleria Rusticana), Pilgrims Chorus (Tannhauser), and Bridal Chorus (Lohengrin).
In recognition of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations, the choir will lead the audience in music which is akin to the last night of the Proms in singing the rousing choruses of Jerusalem, Rule Britannia and Land of Hope and Glory.
Tickets cost £9 (£10 on the door) from Bonners Music Superstore, 56 Langney Road, Eastbourne, Tel: (01323) 636140 or Semantics Glass Engraving Studio, 33 Grove Road, Eastbourne, Tel: (01323) 646414.
Alternatively out of hours purchases or further information can be obtained by contacting Evelyn on 643358.
Refreshments will also be available during the interval.
The choir will be making a donation from the proceeds of the concert to the JPK Project, which is their chosen local charity for this forthcoming year.
