Following the huge success of last two year’s concerts, the big band sound is swinging back into Eastbourne’s Winter Garden on Sunday, July 28 (3pm) when star of BBC Radio 2 Clare Teal performs with the stunning Len Phillips Big Band and special guest Gary Williams, in a unique show which celebrates Frank Sinata and Ella Fitzgerald.

The 17-piece Big Band will be joined by Clare Teal (pictured), mistress of big band sounds and one of the most successful British female jazz singers in decades.

She will also be known by Big Band fans for her successful career in broadcasting, presenting Clare Teal, Sunday night at 10pm and Big Band Special, Monday night at 11pm for Radio 2.

The line-up will also include Gary Williams (pictured), star of West End’s Rat Pack and soloist with leading big bands and concert orchestras including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, the Melbourne Symphony and the BBC Big Band.

Gary has appeared with many big name orchestras including the John Wilson Orchestra at the Royal Festival Hall and the Nelson Riddle Orchestra in Los Angeles.

Enjoy an afternoon concert drawing on the libraries of Frank and Ella including: I’ve Got You Under My Skin, Pennies from Heaven, Shiny Stocking, New York New York, Lady is a Tramp, Ev’ry Time We Say Goodbye and many more.

Formed in 1986 the Len Philips Big Band now directed by Joe Pettitt, features 17 of the countries finest musicians who between them have worked with luminary names in the music industry.

The orchestra draws its repertoire from the libraries of the best big bands from both sides of the Atlantic - such as Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, The Rat Pack, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Ted Heath, Ken Mackintosh, Benny Goodman and many more.
