Eighteen-year-old violinist Indira Grier rehearsed last weekend with the Eastbourne Symphony Orchestra in preparation for this Sunday’s summer concert.
Indira was a finalist this year in the orchestra’s annual Young Soloist Competition and will play Elgar’s Cello Concerto.
She started playing cello at the age of four and gave her first concerto performance aged twelve.
She has attended the Royal Academy of Music where she was awarded a scholarship and where she has recently won the annual Concerto Competition.
The concert also includes Glinka’s Russlan and Ludmilla Overture and Schumann’s Spring Symphony. The leader is Lisa Wigmore and the conductor Graham Jones.
