Folk Club date for The Twagger Band

Formed in 2008 and featuring five of the county’s best known traditional musicians, The Twagger Band appears at The Lamb Folk Club on Wednesday, December 5 .

Two of the band members, Joy Lewis and Derrick Hughes, will be familiar to Lamb regulars, having successfully guested as a duo.

Between them they play a variety of instruments, including Northumbrian smallpipes, hammer dulcimer and serpent.

Perhaps the best known band member is highly regarded singer and concertina wizard Will Duke.

A former member of the Albion Dance Band and the Etchingham Steam Band, he has recently recorded his first solo album, ‘Out of the Box’.

Sue Evans, a multi-talented instrumentalist, plays piano, hammer dulcimer and hurdy gurdy and completing the line up is Ian Chisholm who contributes guitar, bouzouki and mandolin.

The band’s repertoire reflects a deep love of British traditional music which is performed with passion, skill and an ever-present sense of fun.

Admission to this event is £5 on the door, the music starts at 8.00pm and the enquiry number is 728268.
