A BEHIND-THE-SCENES film charting the development of the 2010-2011 Eastbourne panto Cinderella has been produced.

Filmed by Harry Lederman and Alan Tutt over seven months, the movie was premiered at the Devonshire Park Theatre presentation Look Behind You at the Winter Garden.

Eastbourne Theatres artistic director Chris Jordan and members of his staff co-operated with filming while the panto was being planned, rehearsed and staged.

The film was shown in two 45-minute halves, with an intermission during which a tea of sandwiches and cakes was enjoyed by an audience of 200.

Mr Lederman, chairman of The Friends of The Devonshire Park Theatre, said he was delighted with the reaction from the audience to the film, which was designed to show just how much work goes into a professional panto such as this.

He added that people, generally don’t realise how much planning in advance has to take place, which means as one panto finishes work has to start on the next one.

He also said how delighted the Friends were to have the pleasure of the company of Eastbourne mayor Carolyn Heaps.
