The Rude Mechanical Theatre Company is giving outdoor performance sof a delightful and hilarious new play Harlequin Goes to the Moon at Filching Manor, Polegate, on Wednesday, July 31 and The Tye, Alfriston, on Thursday, August 1 (7.30pm).
The white faced clown-like travelling players are experienced full time professional actors and musicians working regularly on television and in theatres around the country.
They perform in a very physical style combining mime and traditional movements dating back to the Italian Renaissance.
The play, like all the company’s work, is new with an original musical score performed live by the actors, who are multiple-instrumentalists.
The theatre site will open at 6pm for picnics. Take chairs or rugs as seats are not provided - and extra clothing for when the sun goes down.
The play is aimed at adults but will be equally enjoyed by more mature children. Tickets (£12 adults, £11 seniors, £9 students, £6 children 7-17) online at the company’s website -– www.therudemechanicaltheatre.co.uk .
Tickets are also available on the door or ring 01323 501260 for details. Concessions will only be available in advance (at least a £1 off every ticket and group rates).
