Former flats and garages in Eastbourne which were once used as Victorian stables and a turning circle for vehicles have been given a new lease of life.

Silverdale Mews in Silverdale Road has been converted in to six two and three bedroom houses by Eastbourne developers Beech Homes.

Reader John Stevens sent in these photos of the mews from yesteryear and show his grandfather and father with their pet dog.

Developer Steve Knott also sent in photos of the mews before work began and Herald photographer Mark Dimmock took a picture of the completed development.

The houses are currently being marketed by Town Property.
