Stray Dogs at Under Ground Theatre, Eastbourne

The New Year at the Eastbourne Under Ground Theatre kicks off with a new act!

The guitar and vocal duo The Stray Dogs have in fact been around for some years – but the morning of Saturday, January 5, will mark their debut at the Under Ground.

The Stray Dogs (Alex Grayson and Garry Wonfor) boast a remarkable c.v. that includes two successful albums, along with a host of stage and television appearances.

Their aim at the UGT, they say, is a show too good to be missed! They’ll be on stage from 10am until noon, apart from a short break. And entry is free.

As at any Stray Dogs performance, the audience can expect to be treated to a wide range of popular classics from the ’50s onwards, all beautifully arranged to suit their exhilarating acoustic guitar playing and polished vocal harmonies.

Alex and Garry describe themselves primarily as singer-songwriters, and you can be sure that their show will include a perfect mix of covers, original songs and stories.

“We are very much looking forward to performing at the Under Ground”, says Garry. “It’s a beautifully intimate venue, with a caring team of sound and lighting technicians, who always ensure that members of the audience are treated to the best!”

Throughout, Fairtrade coffee and tea, and home-made cakes, will be on sale in the UGT coffee-bar, which will stay open until 4pm for viewing of the Andrew Forrest art exhibition in the theatre foyer.
