Bourne Chorus, the Eastbourne-based close vocal harmony group, gave a performance to remember on Saturday evening at The Underground Theatre, writes Tory McDonald.
Singing to a full audience, their programme included a wonderful mix of Classical, Contemporary, Beatles, Barbershop – and even the opening number from The Muppets!
Written feedback from audience members included: ‘Bravo! Brava! It was wonderful!’ – ‘Congratulations! Thoroughly enjoyed it all’ – ‘The whole show was fantastic’.
But perhaps one of the most notable reviews was written by Jane V Grater, Theatre Manager of the Prince of Wales Theatre in London (the UK home to the sell-out musical ‘The Book of Mormon’).
Jane wrote: “Like a box of fine chocolates, Bourne Chorus’ concert at The Underground Theatre was a confectionery of delights.
“An eclectic programme and gorgeous harmonies made this an evening to savour. Highly recommended.”
Bourne Chorus’ next concert is on the afternoon of Sunday, December 1, at the beautiful All Saints Chapel in Darley Road.
The group also sings at Weddings and other private functions, and is available for hire via their website, which includes soundbites and videos of some of their work (www.bournechorus.co.uk).
Bourne Chorus is seeking an additional Bass singer to join their eight existing members. Find out more on 07799 116 653.
