DIRECT from the West End comes the tantalising yet tasteful, camp and colourful show An Evening of Burlesque on September 15 at the Congress Theatre.

Elegant showgirls combine Parisian charm with Las Vegas glamour in this visually stunning show.

It’s all tease, no sleaze as corsets, killer heels and stockings aplenty combine exquisitely with music from across the decades. Traditional burlesque is given a modern-day tweak as sultry vocals, breathtaking choreography, mischief, magic, frivolity and fun collide.

Burlesque as an art form that has become part of the mainstream consciousness, Dita Von Teese even features in advertising campaigns and burlesque classes are commonplace, it is a long way from frivolous titillation.

This show is coming to Eastbourne as part of an extensive UK tour. It features a mixture of naughty cabaret with an eclectic mix of music, circus skills and of course some scintillating striptease which is sure to get pulses racing.

The art of burlesque as we now know it originates from the speakeasy bars of the 1920s and 30s and prior to that from the music halls, with sassy performers such as Marie Lloyd, Mae West and Gypsy Rose Lee embodying this adult art form. Please note this show is suitable for over 18s only.

Tickets cost from £20-£24, call 412000.
