I have today received the Lewes Constituency Conservative Association's In touch with Polegate newsletter which really amazed me.
Firstly, they say that our train operator is South Eastern and not Southern. Have they ever seen a Southern liveried train? They are painted totally differently to South Eastern. Then they refer to the new high speed link from Ashford to Paddington. I travelled last week from St Pancras, did I miss a crucial junction?
Not much point in them raising a petition on fares from Polegate if that is the sum total of their local railway knowledge. Ignorance is not bliss if you are
trying to impress voters.
Out of touch with Polegate would be a far more apt title for their autumn 2008 publication.
R J Sharp, Shepham Lane, Polegate
