Congratulations to Eastbourne Borough Football Club on promotion to the top tier of English non-league football.
I was one of many people who made the journey up to Stevenage for the play-off final. For those people there it will be a night that they will always remember. Although, not surprisingly, due to what was at stake, the team did not play the quality of
football we have seen this season, they did perform with grit and determination.
This was matched by the fantastic support from the Borough fans throughout the game, and the sporting heartfelt applause for Hampton and Richmond Borough when they were presented with their runners up medals.
All those associated with the club can be very proud of this remarkable achievement. My hope now is that Eastbourne wakes up to the fact we have a thriving football club. There is nothing like watching live football, so come on let us get behind our club and give it the support it deserves.
David King, Tas Combe Way, Eastbourne

Borough's remarkable rise from the Sussex County League to the Conference in only eight years is an outstanding achievement and credit must go the superlative management duo, Garry Wilson and Nick Greenwood.
Who would have thought it eight years ago that the Sports would be one division below the Football League and playing against the likes of Wrexham, Mansfield and York?
Conference football is also reward for the hard work and endeavour of the club's team of dedicated volunteers - Mike Spooner and Len Smith amongst others - for giving up countless hours of their time each day to make the club the success it is.
Eastbourne is now firmly on the footballing map.
Surely civic recognition should now be forthcoming for Messrs Wilson and Greenwood.
Eastbourne has a club to be proud of and I hope the whole town gets behind the team next season.
Dean Koch, Ceylon Place, Eastbourne

The atmosphere at Stevenage was fantastic as so many fans made the effort to get there.
It is going to be great at Priory Lane come the start of next season as I'm sure all these fans will be retuning and more besides. Well done the Boro, and enjoy your summer rest.
Damian Karchinski, Wallis Avenue, Eastbourne

Congratulations to Borough FC on their promotion. I knew they could do it and now hopefully they can inspire United and Town to better things.
Dave Poole, Penhurst Close, Eastbourne
