Atrocious to have to pay

ON Thursday last week I went down to the promenade to visit the stalls that lined the promenade for Airbourne and was told I had to pay to do that.
That is atrocious. And if I were running one of the stalls I'd think hard about suing the council for loss of income. I saw very few people on the other side of the barriers. I didn't really want to see the airshow itself since I've viewed it eight or nine times over the past years. And I certainly wasn't going to pay a fee just to visit the stalls.
Since one of the sponsors opted out this year, we taxpayers will now have to pay to make up any loss, including the £100,000 charged to the council for policing the event. We already pay too much tax as it is – a bit of a fiasco. – B Koeneke, Pevensey Road.
