10/05/08: Anything but French goods in the market

On Bank Holiday Monday I strolled along the seafront and came across the French Market.
I saw a stall selling china and pottery, 'Made in Staffordshire Potteries'.
I saw a stall selling 'paella'.
I saw a stall selling handbags made anywhere but France.
I saw overpriced cheeses which I can buy cheaper in any of our supermarkets.
I saw carrots, tomatoes, and other vegetables no better than I can buy here.
Why can't we have an English Farmers Market selling English produce?
At least our precious currency would stay in this country and not disappear to the other side of La Manche. Don Robinson, South Cliff Tower, Eastbourne
