I write in response to the article in last week's Herald concerning Causeway School.
We have lived in Eastbourne for seven years and in 2005 had a real struggle to get a school place for our son. Our initial options were Bishop Bell and Cavendish, neither of which would offer my son a place. Due to reports on Causeway School we defin
itely did not want him to attend but eventually we had to concede and we accepted the place there.
In 2005 we visited the school and were stunned how clean, quiet and happy the school was.
My son started attending school and continuously came home with nothing but praise for the school and the teachers.
His results continued to improve to a very high standard in all subjects and this is due to the tremendous hard work and dedication of all the teachers and Alison Dearden.
On top of fantastic teaching support, the school strives to encourage creativity from the students by putting in hours and hours of work on the school plays which continue to amaze us parents as we see a side of our children we did not know existed.
This threat from a Labour government department is yet another example of the government demonstrating that it is completely out of touch with what is going on in this country. Instead of creating more stress and anxiety for Mrs Dearden, perhaps they should get off their backsides and come and see for themselves the fantastic job that this lady and her staff are doing educating our kids.
Keep up the fantastic work Mrs Dearden and staff, our family supports your efforts 150 per cent.
Paul and Kathy Adams, by e-mail.
