With reference to your front page recently 'Free Vodka for the Girls''. I was surprised to see no person has yet mentioned the Sexual Equality Act of 1971.
It has been illegal for more than 30 years to give either sex any special offers directed at one sex only.
We have had to put up with 'free entry' for females – why? – for many years. A young man can be on benefits and a female could be a well paid high flier but the male must pay and the female let in free, just on grounds of sex – illegal.
The same with free drinks – why? Is the club in question going to have a free beer night for males? Any male subject to refusal of a free vodka can claim sexual discrimination and claim compensation in the courts. D More, Meads Road, Bexhill.
