HAILSHAM will be getting a new mayor on Monday.
The town council will vote for Nick Ellwood's successor at its annual general meeting.

Cllr Ellwood is standing down after two years in the role but will remain on the town council.

Former mayor Cllr Ian Haffenden, who held the post from 1999 to 2001, is favourite to win the vote.

Councillors will also decide who will head up the town council's four committees — planning, environment and leisure, burials and properties and finance, policy and resources.
