A YOB who spat at his former girlfriend has been jailed for 12 weeks.

David Lee, 28, appeared via video-link at Hastings Magistrates Court having already been convicted on a charge of assault.
The court heard how Lee, of Buckwell Rise, Herstmonceux, had spat at his former girlfriend during a night out and had dragged her to a taxi and thrown her inside.
Lee, who had been in custody since April 14, was given an eight week prison sentence for the assault. The court also heard he was in breach of a conditional discharge.
He was therefore given a further four weeks in prison for a previous theft and two weeks for failing to surrender to bail – to run alongside the sentence for theft.
Lee was also found to be in breach of an order made by Lewes Crown Court and will now wait to find if he will receive any additional punishment.
