AN ILLUSTRATED talk on the work of celebrated model-turned-wartime photographer Lee Miller is coming to Hailsham Pavilion on Thursday (November 5).
Lee Miller lived locally at Chiddingly and started her career as a model with Vogue magazine, before becoming a photographer. During World War Two, she was the only female war correspondent and photographer.
The lecture, called Hand Grenades Like Cartier Clips, is written and presented by her son, Anthony Penrose.
He has studied his mother's work for the past 30 years, producing numerous books, films and exhibitions of her work including her widely acclaimed biography, The Lives of Lee Miller.
In addition, he is currently the director of the Lee Miller Archives and The Penrose Collection, situated in the former family home at Farley Farm House in Chiddingly.
The talk is being hosted by Eastbourne Photographic Society and starts at 7.15pm.
