HAILSHAM now has an improved tourist information service.
The staffed information point at the town council offices in Market Square will offer free help and advice for day visitors on attractions, guided tours, festivals, accommodation and events in the area.

The council offices acts as a one-stop shop
for all enquiries and a wide range of locally-produced leaflets, brochures and other information is readily available.

Free help and information is also available to residents on council services, voting, community safety, consumer advice and public transport, including timetables for local buses and national rail information.

Copies of the Official Town Guide and latest town council and parish church newsletters are also available for people to read or take away.

An electronic touch-screen kiosk, incorporating the latest technological features, allows residents and visitors to access a wealth of tourist and community information, health advice, and local education and employment opportunities.

Other features include the ability to print digital photographs and an e-mail service for those with or without an e-mail address.

Town mayor Ian Haffenden said, "The public access information kiosk is easy to use and is linked to excellent sources of information.

"Residents will be able to get advice ranging from council tax and planning applications to benefits, waste and recycling.

"Hailsham Town Council is committed to enabling the public to access accurate, up-to-date information from a variety of channels and we are certain residents will find having such helpful information available to them to be of value."

The tourist and resident information point is open to the public between 9am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.
