The event, supported by Sport England, takes place on Saturday (July 26) at Freedom Leisure's branch in Uckfield but is open to all Wealden residents.
The festival's programme of free demonstrations, taster sessions and activities are suitable for
all ages and abilities and organisers hope it will give local people the chance to join in and get active in the run up to this summer's Olympic Games.
The Wealden Sports Festival will be opened at 11am by Chelsea and England ladies goalkeeper Siobhan Chamberlain.
The activities will take place between 10.30am and 3.30pm and are both indoor and outdoors — so there will be plenty going on whatever the weather.
Over-16s can wrestle as Wonder Woman or Superman in inflatable Sumo suits while youngsters can test their BMX or skateboarding skills on a mobile skate park.
Woodland Adventures, a local adventure centre, will provide a laser gun game and there will be demonstrations of street dance, cheerleading, Tae kwon do and Boccia.
Local companies have entered teams for a five-a-side workplace football tournament and Grasshoppers Football Club under-nines and Uckfield Cricket and Rugby Clubs will be offering youngsters taster sessions on the field throughout the day.
For adults, there will be yoga, Pilates and personal training sessions while in the leisure pool there will be water polo and synchronised swimming sessions.
Urban Shadows, a group which includes members from Eastbourne, will perform displays of Parkour, known as 'free running', which was featured in the James Bond movie Casino Royale.
The festival is backed by a number of local organisations and clubs and is partly funded by Sport England.
The free taster sessions can be booked on the day at the information area or by phoning Freedom Leisure Uckfield on 01825 761160. Children aged under 12 should be accompanied by an adult.
Wealden Sports Festival programmes are available from Freedom Leisure Uckfield, Uckfield Library and Civic Centre or from www.freedom-leisure.co.uk.
