A HERSTMONCEUX man accused of harassing another person has appeared in court.
Christopher Stenhouse, of Gardner Street, appeared before the town's magistrates last Wednesday and entered no plea.
The 23-year-old is alleged to have harassed the other person between New Year's Eve 2007 and March 16 this year.
Tim Stirmey, defending, said Stenhouse was promised a caution at the police station but was later charged.
"We do take issue with that," added Mr Stirmey.
The case was adjourned and Stenhouse will reappear at Brighton on June 9.
He was granted conditional bail.
