A BLUEPRINT for the future of Hailsham and Hellingly will be unveiled on Friday (May 16).

The Hailsham and Hellingly Masterplan will outline suggestions for the future development of the area.
Every aspect of the town has been analysed, including housing and retail expansion, water supply and sewerage, provision of education and health
care, road and public transport networks and sports and recreation facilities.
The future of Hailsham town centre will also come under the spotlight. Among the ideas expected to be included in the plan are a south circular ring road and making the High Street 'pedestrian priority' — accessible only to shoppers, taxis, buses and deliveries during shopping hours.
The plan will be officially unveiled at a joint meeting of Hailsham Town Council and Hellingly Parish Council on Friday.
It will take place at Wealden District Council's meeting room in Vicarage Lane, Hailsham, which can be accessed via the main entrance to Freedom Leisure.
After its formal unveiling, the plan will be submitted to the district council for approval and adoption as a 'supplementary guidance document'.
If this happens, the plan will be used by the district council when it decides on planning applications.
• Full details of the plan and its proposals for the future of Hailsham and Hellingly will appear in next week's Gazette.
