A BLUEPRINT which could shape the future of Hailsham and Hellingly will be unveiled next month.

The Hailsham and Hellingly Masterplan will put forward proposals for the future development of the area.
Every aspect of the town has been analysed, including housing and retail expansion, water supply and sewerage, provision of education and healthcare, road and public transport networks and sports and recreation facilities.
It is also expected to make suggestions for the future of Hailsham town centre, including a south circular ring road and making the High Street accessible only for pedestrians, taxis, buses and deliveries during shopping hours.
The plan will be finalised at a joint meeting of Hailsham Town Council and Hellingly Parish Council on May 16.
It will then be submitted to Wealden District Council for approval and adoption as a 'supplementary guidance document'.
If this happens, the plan will be used by the district council when it decides on planning applications.
Cllr Bill Crittenden, chairman of Hailsham Town Council's planning committee, said he hoped this would ensure 'the wishes of Hailsham and Hellingly residents are taken into account'.
