POP group McFly say they are 'flattered' that Eastbourne fans camped outside the Congress to get tickets for their concert.
Band member Harry Judd, 21, told The Herald, "The fans are wicked, but I sometimes think people are queuing to see another band, I still can't really believe they would be waiting to see me – it is very flattering."
And Tom Fletcher, 22, added, "It is awesome, we have some crazy fans out there.
"I still find it quite unbelievable. When you first set up a band you always think there is a chance you may have to quit in a few months and go to work in McDonalds but things have just been so great for us."
Eastbourne is not usually on a pop star's gig list but McFly's Greatest Hits tour, which is billed as Up Close and Personal, aims to target some of the smaller venues.
Harry said, "We try and get the best of both worlds by doing theatres and arenas.
"I think it is good for our fans because it means they don't have to travel too far – Wembley would normally be the closest venue for people in the south and that is quite a way for some of our fans."
The pop foursome will arrive in their tour bus, ready to perform at Eastbourne's Congress Theatre on October 16.
Tom, Harry, Dougie and Danny say they enjoy being on the road together.
Tom said, "Being in the tour bus is really good fun.
We have a fridge full of beers and caterers with us – so we get yummy meals and sandwiches wherever we go.
"In fact we have the same crew with us every time. It is like a family reunion when we travel.
"We always take the X-Box with us and on the last tour we were watching television series 24 on DVD.
I became a bit hooked, there were times when I just
wanted to watch a couple of episodes instead of going on stage."
Tom says the four of them are best mates and that they all 'get a buzz' from performing in front of the crowds.
He said, "We all get on really well and hang out all the time, even when we are not working. We all live next door to each other in London."
Harry added, "Dougie and I went out for breakfast together this morning."
The band have spent the summer relaxing and they enjoyed a two-week holiday in Barbados a couple of months ago.
Harry said, "It was the first time we had been on holiday together and it was great. We did watersports, skinny dipping and just acted like four kids."
Tom, Harry, Dougie and Danny will perform at the Congress later this month but fans should not expect to see the boys out and about in Eastbourne afterwards.
Tom said, "We do what is called a runner, as soon as we are off stage we get straight in our tour bus and we are gone about 10 seconds later. We need to beat the traffic and the crowds."
Harry added, "To be honest we are quite tired after our concerts and just want to chill out with a beer and then go to sleep in the hotel.
"It is important to have a routine when we are on tour."
The Congress Theatre's original allocation of tickets sold out within two hours. However, there was another allocation of tickets released on Tuesday and any fans who missed out the first time could snap up a ticket.
McFly will be at the Congress Theatre on October 16.
