On A rare visit to the UK, legendary American singer-songwriter Eric Andersen appears at The Lamb Folk Club on May 7.
Eric's songs, voice and guitar have built an incredible career spanning more than 40 years and over two dozen albums.

His songs have been recorded by artists all over the world, including Fairport Convention, Peter, Paul and Mary, Rick Nelson, Lin
da Ronstadt and The Grateful Dead.

Originally from Pittsburg, Pennsylvania, Eric taught himself to play guitar and piano and, influenced by Woody Guthrie and the poets of the beat generaton, he started to write his own songs.

On hearing him perform in 1963, songwriter Tom Paxton invited him to New York where he was introduced to the Greenwich Village songwriting circle of Phil Ochs and Bob Dylan.

Over the next three years he wrote and recorded four albums of his earliest songs, including Come to my Bedside, Thirsty Boots and Violets of Dawn.

Judy Collins and The Blues Project created pop hits of the latter two songs.

His largest selling album Blue River was released on Columbia in 1972 with Joni Mitchell singing harmonies on the title track.

This is one of only a handful of UK dates and an extremely rare opportunity to hear a unique and enduring artist in an intimate setting.

Admission is £5 on the door, the music starts at 8.30pm and enquiries can be made on 01323 728268.
