Seaford: Sgt Chris Wright takes up a new role
Chris Wright
A NEW face has joined the team at Seaford police.
Acting Sergeant Chris Wright, who is temporarily taking over the role of Sergeant until around April, was a teacher before taking up a job with the police force.
The 38-year-old said, “As a young person I always wanted to be a police officer but hadn’t felt ready for it when I was 18.
“One thing led to another and I was teaching.
“After some years, I was somewhat disillusioned by the paperwork and I didn’t have children at the time so I thought it would be a good time to pursue my ambitions.”
Sgt Wright has been with Sussex Police for 10 years and has spent most of his time working on the Lewes district.
His roles have included acting sergeant with Response, but in August last year he rejoined the Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Talking of Seaford he said, “I love the geography of the town and love the coast.
“I come to the town quite frequently to walk on Seaford Head and the Seven Sisters.
“I relish the opportunity of my new role and hope to meet as many people from the community as possible.”
After April, it is likely Sgt Wright will return to the Neighbourhood Policing Team in Lewes.
