Pooches on the Prom in aid of hospice

DOG owners are being asked to join a charity walk along Eastbourne seafront for a children’s hospice.

The three-mile circular walk called Pooches on The Prom is being organised by Demelza Hospice Care for Children.

The event will take place on Sunday, May 13, when all the dogs will be donning a red and white spotted bandana for the walk.

There will also be a fun dog show for all the pooches to take part in and strut their stuff.

A tombola, stalls and a free cup of tea or coffee will be available for those who take part.

Demelza provides a hospices in Kent and South East London.

It also provides short break care, day care, symptom control, end-of-life care and bereavement support for more than 700 children and their families, including youngsters from Eastbourne.

Pooches on the Prom costs £10 per dog, which includes a bandana and a doggie bag.

Sarah Marsh, events co-ordinator for Demelza, said, “Fundraising events like Pooches on the Prom really make a difference to us here at Demelza.

“It means we are able to raise enough money to keep doing what we do best and we are extremely grateful to all who will be taking part.”
