CARNIVAL memories continue to flood in to the Herald offices and the latest photographs are from Looking Back reader Joan Wray.

Joan sent in the pictures of the Eastbourne Carnival in 1964. That year members of the Working Men’s Club took first prize with their float on the theme of the Willow Pattern.

Joan writes, “The various bands always added to the atmosphere and it was always a great event – weather permitting of course. It was a good way of bringing the local people together.”
