Carnival memories from yesteryear

The Seeboard float, early 1960s

The Seeboard float, early 1960s

JIM Wheatley sent in these two photographs of the carnival.

The one of Eastbourne Swimming Club was taken in the late 1950s and the Seeboard float was in the early 1960s when Seeboard was based at Westlords in Willingdon.

Jim, of Jellicoe Close, Eastbourne, writes, “My late wife Sheila Wheatley (nee Buckwell) is in both photographs and I also recognise several people on the floats that are still around the Eastbourne area.”
