Hailsham Old Pavilion Society gets boost from quiz evening

A FANTASTIC quiz evening raised more than £400 for the coffers of Hailsham Old Pavilion Society.

On March 24 the Society hosted a Spring Quiz at Summerheath Hall and attracted 14 teams on a chilly but clear spring evening.

Quiz master Steve set an excellent range of questions – some easy, some not so easy – that taxed the brains of the team members.

The participants were served by the HOPS committee members with a ploughman’s supper that went down very well.

The quizzers brought their own drinks, so the atmosphere was relaxed and the air full of humour.

The winners were presented with bottles of wine and the unfortunate team that came last had the embarrassment of picking up wooden spoons.

After taking into account raffle proceeds the event raised more than £400 which will go towards the upkeep of the Pavilion.

Tom Chapman from HOPS would like to thank all those who supported the event and those helpers who prepared the ploughman’s supper.

A further quiz will be held on November 24, teams are limited so if you are interested ring Ray on 845209 to book a place.
