Down Your Way: Pevensey and Pevensey Bay - April 25

GOOD NEWS it seems, at the Priory Court. At long last “Sold” signs are being displayed, but I have yet to find out whether it is to be reopened as a hotel or used for another purpose.

In the past plans to convert it into houses and build others in the garden have been turned down by Wealden Council.

PACT is unpacked! I’m told Pevensey Area Community Team has disbanded after realising most of its efforts were simply duplicating the work of our excellent parish council.

PEVENSEY Dreamers are looking forward to a packed hall at their regular meeting at the Ethel Wood at 2.30pm on Thursday next week. A representative of the national Talking Newspapers and Magazines will give an insight into their work to provide news and entertainment for the blind or partially sighted.

CELEBRATE 100 years of fire safety in this village! Pevensey Fire Brigade was formed in 1912, the station was situated behind the Smugglers. This was in use until the Second World War when the new station was built on the end of the then Memorial Hall. The present Fire Station was built in 1967. Our brave lads cover 3,506 hectares, mainly rural and serve Pevensey Bay, Normans Bay, Westham, Stone Cross and Hankham. They also provide support to Eastbourne and Bexhill.
