Down Your Way: Pevensey and Pevensey Bay - April 18

BE THERE on Saturday for a good natter and to pick up some bargains. Pevensey Bay and District Flower Club has a Queen’s Diamond Jubilee coffee morning from 10am to noon at Westham village hall.

There’ll be all sorts of stalls including jewellery, cakes, bags and scarves, tombola, bric-a-brac, planters and toys. There will be flower demos and tips throughout the morning and your coffee and bikkies are included in the 50p entry fee.

PLAINTIFF posters have gone up round the old village in the hunt of a missing moggie. The large grey six- year-old cat has vanished from home in the High Street. If you spot the puss, 652799 is the number to call.

-MUSICAL FUN if you google Pevensey Castle Seminole band. Then you can watch and listen as this native American band plays the work Pevensey Castle by US composer Robert Sheldon. Good tune.

-CALL FROM Malcolm Skinner, arguably the best boss the Moorings pub on the beach ever had. He’s proud as punch that his family have taken over running the Castle Inn from Pat and Alex McCombie, who, I’m guessing, have carried out their threat to live the sunshine life in their Iberian villa.
