PCSOs Faye Fletcher and Iain Tomsett and two local residents were out on foot last month in the windy conditions looking to identify possible Community Speed Watch locations on Hailsham North ward.
They found 11 possible sites which have been put forward for consideration to East Sussex Roads Policing unit. There are two sites along A271 on Hawkswood Road, another two along Battle Road, one on Harebeating Drive, two along London Road, two more along Hawthylands Road and two on Milland Road.
Once a number of sites have been approved training commences and deployment for Hailsham North Community Speed watch can starts. Updates here when available. Alternatively contact PCSO Iain Tomsett on firstname.lastname@example.org.
UPPER DICKER: Parking was discussed at the June Parish Council meeting. Currently the only two options are at the back of the village hall or on the recreation ground.
Housing in the parish which is both market and affordable has been apparent for some time. The current allocation until 2027 is for only 10 houses. A request to increase this to 30 has been made but there is no guarantee this will be granted.
A village food market is held in Dicker Hall every Wednesday, 9.30am-1pm and coffee mornings and book exchange every Thursday 10.30am-noon.
SUMMER FETE: Emmanuel Pre-School, Emmanuel Church hall, Hawkswood on July 14 at 1pm.
