THE North Hailsham and Hellingly Residents Association meet on Friday, May 4, at Union Corner Hall, 8pm-9.30pm. Chairman, Peter Reynolds has attended many Wealden Planning Committee South meetings. This is the committee that approves or disapproves planning applications. He has also attended Town Council planning panels and other relevant meetings. The Association has voiced its concerns at many of the meetings on behalf of residents and has also supported members faced with unsuitable planning applications near them.
Currently, the Association has new enthusiastic committee members and is following the rumours of roadworks on the A271. Parking at Hawkes Farm School does not improve even with the intervention of the PCSOs and this is compounded by building work at the Security Unit.
Meanwhile a reply has been submitted to the Wealden District development proposals and it is felt this subject will remain the main cause of concern locally.
