Charity cycle ride raises £2,133 for Cystic Fibrosis Trust
CYCLISTS showed their support for one Seaford family by pedalling 20 miles for charity.
The group of 88 people set off from the top of Ditchling Beacon to Seaford as part of a fundraiser for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.
Seaford residents Clint and Lorna Allen, whose daughter Nicole has cystic fibrosis, were impressed with the turnout and the £2,133 raised.
The riders travelled in teams of up to seven in rain and fog to pedal to the back of the Downs Leisure Centre all within four-and-a-half hours.
The fastest team home, aptly named ‘Are We at the Pub Yet’, made it back in two hours and one minute, closely followed by last year’s winners, ‘The Shoreham Trojans’, in two hours and three minutes.
Five minutes later and third home was the team from Mr Cycles.
Clint and Lorna would like to thank everyone who took part and to Rod from Mr Cycles who provided prizes to the first, second and third teams and Sean Garrick who made a personal donation which covered the cost of food and drink.
