Chapel hosts Diamond Jubilee tea

THE Friends of the Eastbourne Hospitals will be holding a Diamond Jubilee Cream Tea at All Saints Chapel, Darley Road, on Saturday, May 12 (1.30pm-4.30pm).

The tea will be served in the actual chapel and guests treated to musical entertainment.

Outside in the gardens there will be some favourite stalls from the fête, selling a variety of goods such as plants, cakes, stamps, cards, silver and jewellery – and much more.

Entry to the stalls will be free and teas will cost from £5.

Tickets are available in advance or can be bought on the day. Call the Friends office on 417400 ext 4696 for details.

All the proceeds from this fundraising event will be added to the Friends’ Special Projects for 2012.

A spokesperson said, “We aim to raise £180,000 to equip a Cardiology Assessment and Treatment Suite at the Eastbourne DGH, to identify, triage and fast track urgent cardiology patients.

“We are also aiming to raise £260,000 to equip three endoscopy rooms within the new Endoscopy Suite, which is under construction to the side of the main hospital.

“Please come and support us and be part of a wonderful Jubilee celebration.”
